Clyde is a Unitarian Universalist minister who serves the Throop Unitarian Universalist Church in Pasadena, California.
Clyde honors his Native American heritage (Texas Cherokee) which informs his spiritual understanding and practice, and his anti-racist and anti-oppressive commitment. He has worked for peace, justice and equality since he was in the Unitarian Universalist youth movement, Liberal Religious Youth. Clyde has served the Unitarian Universalist congregations in Massachusetts, Indiana, Quebec, Texas and Florida.
He has been a member of the Unitarian Universalist People of Color organization DRUUMM (Diverse Revolutionary Unitarian Universalist Multicultural Ministries) for nine years, and currently serves on its steering committee. He is a member of the newly formed Native Peoples / American Indian caucus of DRUUMM. Clyde has served on the UUMA executive as its portfolio holder for Anti-racism, Anti-oppression and Multiculturalism. He has served the Unitarian Universalist movement in many other capacities as well.
